What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your browser when you visit it. They are used to recognize you between visits, keep login sessions active, and remember preferences such as language.

Not all cookies are the same. There are two main families:

• Technical cookies - necessary for the website to function. Without them, the site doesn't work or works poorly. They do not require your consent by law (ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC and Italian Garante Provision no. 231/2021).
• Profiling, marketing, third-party analytics cookies - used to track your behavior, show targeted ads, measure campaigns. They require your explicit consent via banner.

The cookies on this website

The cookie banner groups everything on the Oralsnap website into two categories: Necessary and External content. You can change your choice at any time from the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page.

Necessary

What the site needs to work, and the memory of your cookie choice. Always active, exempt from consent under Italian Garante Provision no. 231/2021. The site sets no cookies of its own: your choice is kept in your browser's local storage, never sent to us with a request.

External content

The videos on our home page are hosted on YouTube and embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Until you allow this category, each video is only a placeholder and nothing is requested from YouTube. When a video loads, either because you allowed External content or because you pressed Play on that video, YouTube may set the cookies below.

What we do NOT use (clearly stated)

Since the cookies above are all from YouTube (because of embedded videos) and our own oralsnap-consent entry in your browser storage, we want to be explicit about which common tracking technologies are NOT present on our site, set by us or anyone else:

We don't run any web analytics of our own. We don't know how many visitors come to this site, where they click, or how long they stay. We rely on App Store / Google Play conversion metrics and direct customer feedback instead.

How the cookie banner works

When you visit Oralsnap for the first time, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page. It is our own: no external consent platform is involved, and no data about your choice is sent anywhere. It follows Italian Garante Provision no. 231/2021 (Provvedimento del 10 giugno 2021).

The three options on the banner

• Accept all - External content is allowed. The YouTube videos load normally.
• Reject all - only what is Necessary stays active. The videos stay a placeholder until you press Play on one of them.
• Preferences - you choose category by category. Nothing is pre-selected beyond the Necessary category.

Accept all and Reject all have the same size and the same weight, so refusing is as easy as accepting. Until you choose, nothing that needs consent is loaded.

How to change your mind later

You can review or change your choice at any time from the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. The panel also shows when your current choice was saved. If you withdraw consent to External content, the page reloads so that no YouTube player stays open. Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which the banner asks again.

Legal basis

Under Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003) and the Italian Garante Provision of June 10, 2021, prior consent is required for any cookie that is not strictly necessary to deliver a service explicitly requested by the user. The Necessary category on this site is exempt from consent; External content is activated only after your explicit consent, or for a single video when you press its Play button.

How to manage cookies from your browser

Besides using the cookie banner, you can block or delete cookies and site data directly from your browser settings - including the Necessary ones. Please note that clearing the site data removes oralsnap-consent and the banner will appear again, and blocking YouTube cookies may prevent embedded videos from working.

Alternatively, you can browse the site in incognito / private mode: the browser will automatically delete all cookies at the end of the session.

And in the mobile app?

The mobile application Oralsnap (iOS and Android) does not use cookies in the strict sense, because it is not a browser. To maintain the login session, it uses authentication tokens (JWT) instead, stored in the native secure storage of your device (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android).

These tokens:

• Are created at login and expire after 30 days
• Are stored only on your device, in spaces encrypted by the operating system
• Are automatically deleted at logout or account deletion
• Are not transmitted to third parties

Changes and contact

7.1 - Updates to this page

We will update this Cookie Policy whenever we change the technologies used on the site. In particular:

• If we add new technical cookies → update of this page, without need for prior notice.
• If we add marketing or third-party analytics cookies → update of this page and a new consent request in the cookie banner before anything new runs.
